Fluidsim 5 is a large-scale, 3D simulation environment for fluids. Among others, it supports real-time simulation of liquid-liquid reactions under gravity and gas transport in porous media. Fluidsim 5's interface is based on the Modelica language. Fluidsim 5 offers new features to simplify modeling of complex, multi-phase fluid systems with highly improved graphical output and improved usability. The Fluidsim 5 software comes with various preconfigured examples that are ready to use out of the box. Users can also create their own configurations or modify existing ones using the Configuration Editor feature available in Fluidsim 4, which was upgraded to Version 10 for this version release. Fluidsim 5 was released on October 29, 2014.

The Festo FluidSIM product collection consists of several software products designed for formulation, analysis and simulation in the field of material science and engineering. The Fluidsim package offers fluid dynamics modeling in three scales: molecular, macroscopic (body or aerodynamic) or mesoscale (nano-scale). The software includes extensive libraries for fluid dynamics, thermodynamics, electrical engineering and material science. Fluid Design Expert (FDE) simulates the flow in hydraulic systems, which are commonly used to power industrial machines. The software is also suitable for hydraulic systems where temperature is an important parameter. This includes cooling loops in engines and turbomachinery like wind turbines. It allows users to analyze how fluids are drawn into the system, how they are convected through it and how they are discharged from it, including laminar or turbulent flow regimes. FDE has two separate views that simulate macro-scale or micro-scale processes simultaneously.
